The Iambe Cattery is lo cate d in the San Francisco Bay Are . Our specialty is pedigreed European Burmese in the entire rainbow of 10 colors. The cattery was founded in 2002. Kittens are raised with our family. Litters are well spaced to make sure that we have the time to socialize each and every kitten to the fullest.

We breed our kids with their health as our primary concern. Careful observation, along with research into pedigrees and husbandry are our main tools for creating excellent health in our feline . We breed only European Burmese and do not permit our cats to be used in breeding programs that are not registered with the CFA.

Our second concern is their temperament. We are so blessed that all European Burmese have great, loving, hilarious souls. We have the joy of choosing only the truly over the top kids to reproduce.

Our third concern is to breed to the CFA standard of elegance, grace and dynamic color. Beauty has always been the pursuit of Iambe's founder, Gwen Watson. She has pursued this passion through photography, orchids, fabric art and now, European Burmese.

The felines at Iambe Cattery are looked after with the goal of treading as softly as possible on Mother Earth. We feed organic food, with an emphasis on raw meat. (Cats are carnivores, after all. We have yet to see a wild cat presiding over a Weber grill!!) We support local vendors with our purchases. We use biodegradable, nontoxic cat litter. Our health care policies emphasize the holistic, non invasive approach. We use allopathic medicine when necessary (a holistic approach will include this, by definition . Our use of vaccines is minimal.

Gwen is avidly studying the nature of animal healing. This includes homeopathy and the traditional Chinese medical arts. Please check back to this site for further developments in these fields.
